Charles Ikechukwu Onwubuya, professionally known as Onyebeat, is a Music Producer, Sound Engineer, Singer/Songwriter, and Composer with a deep passion for the musical and media arts. He is an alumnus of the Audio Institute of America and the University of Benin (UNIBEN), where he earned a Diploma in Recording Technology/Music Production and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, respectively.

Onyebeat is also a fellow of prestigious institutions, including the Red Sea Labs ‘Music and Sound’ Initiative in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and OneBeat Ghana, a program by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs. His expertise spans broadcast and entertainment media, where he has made significant contributions.

Onyebeat has worked with some of Africa’s most notable artists, including Prinx Emmanuel, Wiz Ofuasia, Josh2Funny, O’Lyncilia, Noire Velours, Niniola, Mr. Raw, Slow Dogg, Koker, Xpected, Selebobo, and many more. Onyebeat is a celebrated Catholic Liturgical Music Composer, known for creating captivating pieces such as ‘Abu Umu Zayon,’ ‘Muo Nso Gbadata,’ ‘Ike Chukwu,’ ‘Immanuel,’ and many more. He has also produced albums for numerous choirs and composers across Nigeria.

A pioneer in the Afro-Choral genre, he blends Neo-Classical, Contemporary, and African Indigenous Choral Music with Afrobeat(s) to create a unique and powerful sound.

Beyond music production, Onyebeat is passionate about youth education and is a strong advocate for reviving African folktale culture.
